About the Role
Job Summary:
This role serves Journey Fellowship by investing in the lives of young children and their families. It is directly responsible for recruiting and equipping volunteer leaders and teams, creating an engaging learning environment, and providing support to Kids ministry functions.
Ministry Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote the values of JF and cast vision to the church for investing in children and families.
Recruit, process, equip, and schedule volunteers to serve in children’s ministry; to include: Early childhood (PK and Nursery), elementary area, and Kidz Care.
Lead the development, implementation, and/or resourcing of Sunday and mid-week programming specific to ministry areas.
Organize and assign volunteers for elementary large group (worship, games, storytelling) and small group (classroom) areas.
Organize and assign lesson plans for PK and Elementary class volunteers (lesson, craft, games, videos, etc).
Recruit, interview, train, and schedule Kidz Care staff to provide high-quality childcare in support of special events and programming.
Follow up with new families of first-timers in a timely manner (one week).
Ensure child safety protocol is followed/enforced.
Collaborate with the NG Pastor to plan, develop, and deliver ongoing training opportunities for volunteers.
Help develop, create and implementation of programs that encourage parents to lead well in the home.
Collaborate with the NG Pastor to plan and facilitate engaging special events and outreach activities.
Lead the implementation of Family Milestone initiatives at JF.
Help ensure classrooms, furniture, equipment, and materials are age-appropriate, safe, and clean.
Support church-wide events and efforts of other ministries.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Administrative Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer phone inquiries and e-mails, take information and respond to ministry inquiries.
Prepare registrations and record/monitor/manage attendance using Planning Center database.
Prepare and submit accurate and timely expense reports.
Prepare and submit various communications to internal and external audiences.
Assist with promotions, communication, and marketing of ministry info.
Monitor inventory of ministry resources, office supplies, and educational materials.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Ministry, Biblical Studies, Education, or related field) or relevant experience.
Two (2) years of Children’s ministry experience as a volunteer or on a church staff.

Willingness to lead from the stage and/or in front of large groups.
Understanding of children’s learning and development stages.
Creative spirit that can utilize resources effectively in teaching and creating environments.
Knowledge of audio/video systems – sound boards, ProPresenter, and other presentation software.
Ability to lead by example with compassion and humility.
Ability to develop volunteer leaders and team members for effective ministry.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written means.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to build and promote a team culture through collaboration with other ministries/departments.
Ability to use computers and a variety of software applications.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Available to work with occasional flexibility in schedule.
Ability to discern and maintain confidentiality.

We are a church located in Selma, TX that has been serving the community since 2005, when we started out in the old Blue Bonnet Palace Country Dance Hall. From the very beginning, our goal has been to pour into our community and create a welcoming atmosphere, where everyone is free to worship Jesus.
